SDR Projects

Glades Electric Cooperative

SDR was engaged by Glades Electric Cooperative (GEC) to deliver both planned vegetation management and emergency utility restoration services. These projects were unique in scope, encompassing proactive infrastructure clearing to support fiber-optic expansion as well as rapid-response operations following severe storm events.

In total, SDR cleared 281 miles of right-of-way and poles for GEC’s fiber-optic installation program and mobilized for an emergency storm in response to Hurricane Helene. These combined services supported GEC’s dual priorities of system modernization and continuity of electric service for cooperative members.

SDR’s integrated emergency utility services provided GEC with rapid-response vegetation clearance, power restoration, and FEMA-compliant recovery operations, ensuring continuity of service for electric cooperative members.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
  • Power Restoration: Repair of distribution and transmission lines, including service drops
  • ROW Clearance: Removal of disaster-related vegetative debris from transportation routes and electrical rights-of-way.
  • Hazardous Trees: Cutting, pruning, and removal of storm-damaged or leaning trees threatening electrical circuits.
